HARMAN’s Lexicon DD-8 Multi-Room Amplifier Earns Three Awards at CEDIA 2011

ELKHART, Indiana — At CEDIA 2011, HARMAN’s Lexicon DD-8 multi-room power amplifier was honored with three major industry awards. The amplifier was presented with the Best Power Amplifier Resi Award from Residential Systems, as well as CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards for Best New Product and Sustainable Lifestyle Product Innovation.

Lexicon was the only manufacturer to receive three prestigious industry awards for a single product at CEDIA 2011 and the sole winner of the Sustainable Lifestyle Innovation, recognizing the environmental friendly element of the product.

The Lexicon DD-8 Multi-Room Amplifier, an eight-channel amplifier that utilizes patented DriveCore amplifier technology to deliver 1,000 watts of power from a sleek, compact design, while operating with greater efficiency than ever possible before.

“We knew with the introduction of the DD-8, Lexicon established an entirely new design paradigm for consumer amplifiers,” noted Jim Garrett, Market Manager, HARMAN Luxury Audio Group. “These three awards reaffirm our commitment to providing our dealer base with the most innovative high-quality products that make a difference in their business. DriveCore technology provides smaller size, lighter weight, greater efficiency, more environmentally friendly manufacturing and most importantly better sound.”

The Lexicon DD-8 delivers 125 watts into each of its eight channels, yet measures just 1.7” H (one rack space) x 17.3” W x 14.9” D and weighs only 9.2lbs. The DD-8 achieves its unparalleled power and efficiency through the use of Harman’s new DriveCore amplifier IC chip. This chip, co-developed with Texas Instruments™ Incorporated exclusively for Harman, incorporates an unprecedented level of component integration into an IC that is smaller than a postage stamp.

The Lexicon DD-8 Multi-Room Amplifier is available at a suggested retail price of $2,500.
