HARMAN’s Lexicon DD-8 Multi-Room Power Amplifier Wins CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award

HARMAN’s Lexicon DD-8 Multi-Room Power Amplifier

ELKHART, Indiana — HARMAN’s Lexicon today announced that its DD-8 Multi-Room Power Amplifier has received a CES Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) in the multi-room audio/video category.

The Lexicon DD-8 is an eight-channel amplifier that delivers more power in less space than any other competing products. The DD-8 utilizes patented DriveCore™ amplifier technology to provide 1,000 watts of power from a sleek, compact design, while operating with greater efficiency than ever possible before.

“We are honored that the technological advancements embodied in the Lexicon DD-8 have been recognized with an Innovations 2012 Design and Engineering Award,” said Jim Garrett, Market Manager, HARMAN Luxury Audio Group. “The DD-8 advances amplifier design on a number of levels with its ultra compact size, outstanding performance and environmentally friendly technology.”

The Lexicon DD-8 delivers 125 watts into each of its eight channels, yet measures just 2.1" high by 17.3" wide by 14.9" deep. The DD-8 achieves its unparalleled power and efficiency through the use of HARMAN’s DriveCore amplifier IC chip. This chip, co-developed with Texas Instruments™ Incorporated exclusively for Harman, incorporates an unprecedented level of component integration into an IC that is smaller than a postage stamp.

Earlier this year the Lexicon DD-8 was also the recipient of the Best Power Amplifier Resi Award from Residential Systems, as well as CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence Awards for Best New Product and Sustainable Lifestyle Product Innovation.
